Building a new building was not an easy decision for HRDC. The volunteer Board of Directors reached the decision after an in-depth study declared it to be the most-cost effective, long-range solution to the organization's growing needs.

Cost-Effective
Ownership will decrease occupancy costs. Building a LEEDS approved facility will, in the long run, be more cost-effective as well as more environmentally friendly.

Sustainability
The new two-story, 20,000 square foot building allows HRDC to plan for the long-term. The new building will give our clients and staff a comfortable location with easy access for many years to come.

Location
Our new Virginia Avenue center is located in the heart of where many HRDC clients live. Clients and our staff will appreciate the convenient location and the ample parking. HRDC will be a leader in the renaissance of Virginia Avenue. The new building will be able to serve as a community center.

Consolidation
HRDC will be able to consolidate many of its services under one roof. Not only will it be more convenient for our clients, it will also be cost effective.

Efficiency
With HRDC headquartered in its own building, the organization will be able to consolidate four locations into one. This will allow services, maintenance and administration to operate in a more efficient manner. We will still, of course, continue our services in other regions of the county, including Frostburg, Mount Savage, Westernport, Lonaconing and eastern Allegany County.

Safety
HRDC designed the new building with our clients' confidential needs in mind. The adjoining parking lot will allow easier client access to staff and services.

Better Service
HRDC's clients will be better served by having many of the organization's services all in the same building.
